DPNR AND FRIENDS OF THE ST. CROIX EAST END MARINE PARK PRESENT: CLOTHING SWAP & MENDING WORKSHOP

Commissioner Jean-Pierre L. Oriol of the Department of Planning and Natural Resources (DPNR) is pleased to announce that the Division of Coastal Zone Management, in partnership with Friends of the St. Croix East End Marine Park, will host a free community event: Clothing Swap and Mending Workshop on Saturday, December 6, at Estate Great Pond Park (former Camp Arawak site). Event Time: 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Join us in promoting sustainability and reducing textile waste! Bring clean, gently used clothing and mending supplies such as patches, thread, embroidery hoops, and needles. Participants can swap clothing freely and use donated materials for repairs. Mending tutorials and instructions will be available throughout the day. Any remaining items will be donated at the end of the event.

Important Details:

  • Outdoor event — advance sign-up recommended.
  • You do not need to bring clothing or materials to participate.
  • All ages welcome!

Additionally, the St. Croix East End Marine Park Visitor Center will be open from 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Explore interactive exhibits and learn more about St. Croix’s natural environment.
