Commissioner Jean-Pierre L. Oriol of the Department of Planning and Natural Resources is pleased to announce the next session of the Talking Books Book Club, scheduled for Wednesday, May 13, at 10:00 a.m. at the Regional Library for the Blind and Physically Challenged, now located within the Florence Williams Library in Christiansted.
This month’s featured selection is Strangers in Time: A Novel by David Baldacci. The story is set during World War II and follows the lives of characters whose paths cross during a difficult and uncertain time. The novel highlights themes of resilience, friendship, and hope, making it a meaningful and engaging selection for readers.
The Division of Libraries, Archives and Museums (DLAM) is also encouraging readers to explore its digital collection through Hoopla. To support greater participation, six new eBook copies and six audiobook versions of this month’s selection have been added, making it easier for readers to access the book, enjoy the story, and connect with fellow members of the reading community.
The Talking Books Book Club meets regularly on the second Wednesday of each month at 10:00 a.m. For additional information or to participate, please contact:
Nina Garcia, Librarian II, at (340) 718-2250 or via email at nina.garcia@dpnr.vi.gov or Amy DeSorbo, DLAM Director, at amy.desorbo@dpnr.vi.gov.
