Commissioner Jean-Pierre L. Oriol of the Department of Planning and Natural Resources (DPNR) announces that the Division of Libraries, Archives and Museums will host a free Movie Day at the Library on Saturday, July 11, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Florence Williams Public Library, located at 1122 King Street, Christiansted.
Community members of all ages are invited to enjoy an afternoon of family-friendly entertainment featuring The Bad Guys 2, an animated adventure based on the popular children’s book series. The film follows a group of former outlaws as they attempt to leave their criminal past behind and embrace life as heroes, leading to unexpected challenges and exciting new adventures.
The Florence Williams Public Library continues to serve as a vibrant community gathering space where residents can connect, learn, and participate in enriching educational and cultural programs. Events such as Movie Day at the Library support the Division’s ongoing mission to promote literacy, lifelong learning, and meaningful family engagement through accessible and inclusive programming.
“Movie Day at the Library offers families an opportunity to come together, enjoy a great story, and experience the welcoming atmosphere of our public library,” said Amy DeSorbo, Director of the Division of Libraries, Archives and Museums. “We encourage residents to take advantage of this free event and explore the many resources, services, and programs available through the U.S. Virgin Islands Public Library System.”
Families interested in reading the story before watching the movie can access The Bad Guys in digital and audio formats through the U.S. Virgin Islands Digital Library on Hoopla Digital using a valid USVI Public Library System patron card. The event is free and open to the public.
