Commissioner Jean-Pierre L. Oriol of the Department of Planning and Natural Resources (DPNR) announces that the Florence Williams Public Library will host a free Family Movie Day on Saturday, August 22, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the library in Christiansted.
The featured film, The Sheep Detectives, is a fun-filled, family-friendly mystery adventure based on the popular young adult novel. The story follows a shepherd who reads murder mysteries aloud to his flock each evening, convinced that his sheep understand every word. When the shepherd is found dead under suspicious circumstances, the sheep embark on a quest to solve the mystery themselves.
“Movie time is back at the Florence Williams Public Library, and we invite families and readers of all ages to join us for this entertaining adventure,” said Amy DeSorbo, Director of Libraries, Archives, and Museums. “Before the screening, we encourage everyone to read or listen to The Sheep Detectives, which is available in both digital and audiobook formats through Hoopla Digital using a U.S. Virgin Islands public library card. It’s a great way to enhance the movie experience and discover a wonderful story.”
The event is free and open to the public.
