DPNR INVITES READERS TO JOIN “TALKING BOOKS BOOK CLUB WITH NINA GARCIA”

Commissioner Jean-Pierre L. Oriol of the Department of Planning and Natural Resources (DPNR) is pleased to announce the next session of the Talking Books Book Club with Nina Garcia, scheduled for Wednesday, October 14, at 10:00 a.m. at the Regional Library for the Blind and Physically Challenged, now located within the Florence Williams Library in Christiansted.

The Talking Books Book Club is open to everyone interested in reading, sharing perspectives, and participating in engaging literary discussions.

This month, the club will discuss A Cruise to Die For: A Novel by Heather Graham, a mystery and romantic thriller that takes readers aboard a cruise ship for a dangerous undercover investigation. Special Agent Chloe McMurray is assigned to pose as the wife of fellow Special Agent Wesley Law as the pair investigates a string of seemingly unrelated deaths. Their investigation leads them to a technology corporation with connections to the cruise industry, forcing the agents to uncover the truth while maintaining their covers at sea.

“We’re excited to welcome our readers to explore our digital collection through Hoopla,” said DLAM Director Amy DeSorbo. “To make it easier for everyone to join in, we’ve added six new eBook copies and six audiobook versions of this month’s selection. Dive into a great story and connect with fellow readers in our vibrant community.”

The Talking Books Book Club meets regularly on the second Wednesday of each month at 10:00 a.m., providing readers an opportunity to discover new books, exchange ideas, and connect with others through a shared appreciation of literature.
