GRROE USVI Mangroves

Under the CRRC grant, the GRROE USVI Mangroves program at the University of the Virgin Islands will expand education, training, and restoration efforts that strengthen the Territory’s coastal resilience. The program focuses on three goals—community preparedness, reducing exposure, and improving recovery capacity—through mangrove education, monitoring, and restoration. GRROE will grow and outplant mangroves, train local students and community members, and engage leaders and ecotourism professionals in resilience education, building a skilled local workforce ready to protect and restore the islands’ vital coastal ecosystems.
