Flood Safety Awareness Week – April 25-29, 2022

“Failure to plan is a plan to fail”

Flood Safety Awareness Week is
April 25-29, 2022

The consequences of floods, both negative and positive, vary greatly depending on the location and extent of flooding, and the vulnerability and value of the natural and constructed environments they affect. The immediate impacts of flooding include loss of human life, damage to property, destruction of crops, and loss of livestock.
You don’t have to live near the water for your home or business to flood. Flooding can come from rainfall, a tropical storm, hurricanes, high tides nuisance flooding, or a storm surge from a tsunami. Be prepared. Stay Safe. Purchase Flood Insurance.

All week Territorial and local partners along with FEMA will produce news releases, provide messages through social media, and radio outreach on how to Be Informed, Plan Ahead, and Take Action. Being Informed, Planning Ahead, & Taking Action can help to lessen the impact of flooding on you, your family, and your community.
