Commissioner Jean-Pierre L. Oriol of the Department of Planning and Natural Resources is proud to announce that the Division of Libraries, Archives and Museums (DLAM) will celebrate Virgin Islands History Month with a special, month-long speaker series honoring individuals who have shaped—and continue to shape—Virgin Islands history.
The series will begin at the Florence Williams Public Library, in Christiansted, on Thursday, March 5 at 12:00 p.m. in the library’s theater. The opening presentation will feature Claire Roker, who will share the story, legacy, and lasting contributions of Delta Dorsch. This session will spotlight the achievements and historical significance of one of the Virgin Islands’ most influential cultural figures. Additional presentations on Thursday, March 12 at the Florence Williams Public Library include:
- Willard John on Dr. Eugene “Doc Pete” Petersen
On Wednesday, March 18th at Florence Williams Public Library
- Kendall Henry on Stanley and The Ten Sleepless Knights
On Tuesday, March 31st at Florence Williams Public Library
- Marlon Williams on Wallace Williams
The series will continue on St. Thomas at The Charles W. Turnbull Regional Library Theater on Monday, March 23 at 12:00 p.m., where Kendall Henry will deliver a presentation on Stanley and the Ten Sleepless Knights (TSK).
