DPNR ANNOUNCES PRE-REGISTRATION MEETINGS FOR COMMERCIAL FISHERS

Commissioner Jean-Pierre L. Oriol of the Department of Planning and Natural Resources (DPNR) announces that the Division of Fish and Wildlife will host pre-registration meetings for all licensed commercial fishers in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The meetings are scheduled as follows:

  • St. Thomas/St. John: Tuesday, June 16, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Charles W. Turnbull Regional Library Auditorium
  • St. Croix: Wednesday, June 24, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Great Hall on the University of the Virgin Islands’ Albert A. Sheen Campus

These sessions will provide important information on commercial fishing compliance, available resources, and upcoming survey and research opportunities for the new fishing year. Attendees will also have the opportunity to complete the initial step in the commercial fishing license renewal process.

The Division of Fish and Wildlife encourages all commercial fishers to schedule their port sampling appointments and submit any outstanding commercial catch reports in advance to help ensure a smooth and timely license renewal process.
