Commissioner Jean-Pierre L. Oriol of the Department of Planning and Natural Resources (DPNR) announces that the Division of Environmental Protection is seeking proposals for projects that seek to address Sustainable Materials Management in the Territory. Projects that accept, collect and /or recycle materials for outside sources to create value-added feedstock for intermediary processing or end-use recycled products manufacturing.
Proposals must address:
- Territory-wide needs
- promote waste reduction through reuse, repair and sharing economic initiatives,
- specify reuse and/or repair infrastructure and recycling program development
- increase organic waste management and recycling infrastructure in each district (St. Thomas/St. John & St. Croix)
- expand the types of materials managed through composting and recycling
- maximize local economies of scale
Applications must be received no later than 5:00PM EST on Friday, March 29, 2024.
