DPNR PRESENTS “TALKING BOOKS BOOK CLUB WITH NINA GARCIA”

Commissioner Jean-Pierre L. Oriol of the Department of Planning and Natural Resources is pleased to announce the next session of the Talking Books Book Club, taking place on Wednesday, September 9, at 10:00 a.m. at the Regional Library for the Blind and Physically Challenged, now located within the Florence Williams Library in Christiansted. The Talking Books Book Club is open to all who wish to participate.

This month’s featured title is Hope Rises by bestselling author David Baldacci. The novel follows a former Army Ranger who returns to his hometown seeking a quiet life, only to become entangled in a mystery that uncovers long-buried secrets. Filled with suspense, compelling characters, and themes of resilience, justice, and redemption, Hope Rises offers readers a thought-provoking and engaging experience.

“We’re excited to welcome our readers to explore our digital collection through Hoopla,” said DLAM Director Amy DeSorbo. “To make it easier for everyone to join in, we’ve added six new eBook copies and six audiobook versions of this month’s selection. We encourage everyone to dive into a great story and connect with fellow readers in our vibrant reading community.”

The Talking Books Book Club meets regularly on the second Wednesday of each month at 10:00 a.m.
