Commissioner Jean-Pierre L. Oriol of the Department of Planning and Natural Resources (DPNR) is thrilled to announce that the final formatted draft of the USVI’s Comprehensive Land and Water Use Plan (CLWP) is now open for public review and comment.
“We are delighted to present this formatted draft of the Comprehensive Land and Water Use Plan. This draft incorporates extensive feedback gathered throughout the planning process, which included contributions from 91 resident volunteers, 15 Town Hall Meetings—including the most recent one in June 2024—approximately 1400 participants, and an online survey that remained open through July,” said Oriol. He continued, “DPNR eagerly anticipates additional feedback from the community, making any final adjustments, and collaborating with the Senate to officially adopt this vital Plan for our future.”
The 198-page draft is now available for review at www.PlanUSVI.com . Public hearings will be scheduled to provide further opportunities for comments and discussion. Meanwhile, the public is encouraged to review the plan and submit feedback on the project website by December 5, 2024.
