DPNR’S HISTORIC DISASTER RECOVERY PROGRAM MAKES CHECK PRESENTATION

Commissioner Jean-Pierre L. Oriol, of the Department of Planning and Natural Resources is pleased to announce that the Frederick Evangelical Lutheran Church will be presented a $200,000 Historic Recovery Sub Grant Check on Monday, March 13th, at 1:00pm on the church grounds.

The reimbursement sub grant is awarded from DPNR’s Virgin Islands State Historic Preservation Office through its Historic Building Disaster Recovery Program. The funds were made available through the Department of the Interior for the repair and restoration of eligible historic buildings, sites, and resources damaged by the 2017 Hurricanes. “DPNR remains committed to the restoration, and preservation of our historic districts, towns, and cultural resources. We thank the Frederik Evangelical Lutheran Church for partnering with us to preserve the historic fabric of our Territory,” said the Commissioner. “Additional grant recipients will be announced in the coming weeks.” concluded Oriol.
