Commissioner Jean-Pierre L. Oriol of the Department of Planning and Natural Resources informs the community that the Florence A. Williams Public Library in Christiansted has faced multiple break-ins and burglaries over the past two weeks. The most recent incident occurred over the weekend, resulting in the theft of computers and other valuable equipment.
As a result, the library will remain closed until further notice to allow the Virgin Islands Police Department (VIPD) to conduct a thorough investigation and for staff to begin the cleanup process.
Commissioner Oriol apologizes for any inconvenience this closure may cause and appreciates the community’s understanding and support during this time.
